About the local area
The Windward Cay provides a tranquil retreat from the theme parks, with a lovely lakeside setting to come home to after a busy day at the parks. Despite the peacefulness of this small development, it is located just off the busy 192 Highway in the heart of Kissimmee, approximately 10 minutes from Disney.

There are plenty of shops and restaurants, including a 24hour Walmart, on your doorstep and it is just a short drive (about ten minutes) from Disney. SeaWorld, Universal Studios and the International Drive area can be reached using Interstate 4 and there are a number of golf courses within easy reach.

The villa was as described everything you could possibly want and the pool area was superb. Windward Cay is a very quiet neighbourhood making it a haven of peace at the end of a busy day. And I shall miss my early morning coffee by the pool. In short we did not want to go home. Marie who owns the property was great to deal with making everything straightforward as were the management team as we had a small issue, which was dealt with straight away. Overall I would have no hesitation in recommending this Villa to my friends and family. And for our next trip out here I will be looking to book here first."

"★★★★ Overall we were very happy with the house rental. The best feature is the pool and hot tub enclosed by a lanai and overlooking a pond. It was very quiet and pleasant. Our biggest complaint was the air conditioning. We respected the owner’s instructions and never lowered the thermostat below 75. Apparently, if the temperature is set below 75 the A/C may ice up and we would be responsible to pay any servicing fees. It’s Florida...plenty of heat and humidity. Being able to lower the A/C to a more ideal temperature would have made this a 5-star stay."

"Villa itself is well presented clean and has everything you would need for an extended stay including dishwasher washing machine dryer microwave iron ironing board and even a pool table in the garage What we did like was the electric lock option to the front door as well as the key safe meaning we didn’t run the risk of losing a key during our busy days The pool is south facing and comes with a hot tub too the heating was well worth the money especially at the time of year we went The master bedroom is on-suite (with double sinks shower & bath) the bedroom also leads on to the pool area there is a roomy walk in wardrobe The main area of the villa is open plan and enough seating in the living area for everyone The 2 other bedrooms share a bathroom. The hall leading to these rooms houses the washing machine and dryer. We have used Maries & Garys Villas twice and will be returning to this one later in the year it speaks volumes for the Villa and the owners We will not use anyone else now"

We stayed for 2 weeks in August 18 and found the villa to be clean, comfortable, well presented and well equipped. its located off the 192 in a very peaceful neighbourhood, close to restaurants and minuets away from a large Walmart. On a late arrival we found a lovely welcome pack and even better cold beer in the fridge! The best part of staying at this villa is the stunning south facing pool area with its lake view. We spent many hours by the pool, relaxing and watching the wildlife. It was so peaceful and calming. One of the best villas we have stayed at, if not the best."

"★ ★ ★ ★ Very homey If it was closer to the interstate it would have been better for us, but overall wasn’t a bad drive once we knew the way. It was just what we needed- a roomy house with plenty entertainment. The kids loved the ping pong and the pool. There were lots of “rules”, but it was just because we were guests in a home instead of a hotel. The washing machine stopped working our 2nd day, but was replaced quickly and everyone who helped with that was very nice. We would definitely recommend this house to a family on vacation."

We had a pleasant stay and it was very relaxing, but I found it odd that there was a DVD player and no DVD's, also a radio would of been nice although I solved that problem be buying a speaker to use with my tablet. A common fault I have found with nearly every apartment / villa I have rented is the knives are blunt and near to useless, not much good if you intend to cook and prepare the odd meal or two. Otherwise we found it a nice place and enjoyed sitting out by the pool listening to the birds and having the odd drink or two."

"★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Didn't want to leave!!! Villa is lovely, plenty of room and the most perfect view from the pool area. South facing, Sun is in pool area all day. Looking out over the lake we saw turtles, ducks, squirrels, buzzards, vultures, woodpeckers and so many more other birds. The area is very quiet. Villa is well equipped with a great washing machine and tumble dryer, although clothes dry very quickly outside. There were three of us but great for an extended family or couple of family of friends.. Villa is very close to 192 where there are many restaurants, shops and Wal Mart. Not far from Disney parks and many other attractions. Marie and Gary reply very quickly to any communication. This was a great find, hope we can return again one day."

Close to just about any restaurant you can image along with Wal-Mart, target, Publix, and Aldi. Easy commute to Disney and Universal. Secluded back yard with plenty of privacy. Giant master suite and bathroom. We have a family of 6 with kids from 5-15 and it was plenty of room. Great vacation!"

All rooms were of good size with an enormous master bedroom and en-suite. The pool area was outstanding.... With a 36ft long pool that you could actually swim in (not a plunge pool!) with the added bonus of a good size Jacuzzi. We paid extra for pool heating and think that it was well worth it even though the weather was kind to us for January. We certainly made good use of the pool area. The villa is very well located, in a very peaceful setting backing onto the lake (hardly ever saw anyone else whilst out on the pool deck) yet it was only minutes away from the busy 192 with numerous restaurants etc and a huge Walmart 5 minutes drive away. Games room in garage was a pleasant distraction for our 11 year old while the adults were getting ready to go out! We had one small issue with pool heating, but this was resolved promptly following a quick email to Marie. It was very clean and comfortable. We were in town to visit the Disney parks and it was only a short easy drive to the parks each day. We especially loved having the heated pool and hot tub to relax in after long days on our feet walking around. (It is totally worth spending the extra money to go with the heat especially during winter months). The kids also loved having the game room to play pool in. Mrs. Bowen was great to work with and made everything hassle free for our vacation, so many thanks to her for allowing us to use her home."

Walmart and publix are 5 minutes away. The neighborhood is quiet with many locals. The house is cared for to the last detail. Everything fresh and clean, a top pool and a nice bed. "★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent - couldn't have asked for better! We had a great family holiday in this excellent villa, it had everything we needed and more! It was clean, spacious, the beds were super comfy! We loved having our own pool looking onto the lake, it wasn't overlooked by anyone and was extremely quiet and peaceful, you wouldn't know you were anywhere near the 192. Location wise it was perfect. Just along the road is a Walmart and an Aldi with multiple restaurants in both directions. The owner Marie, has been excellent since we first enquired about this villa 11 months before arriving always answering questions and giving lots of helpful information before and during our holiday. We had a fantastic time and will definitely stay here again."

"Hi Marie, Holiday over now (need another to recover!) but wonderful memories. Just wanted to say thank you for all of your help it certainly assisted in making the holiday extra enjoyable. "We'd originally booked to come over on 7th October 2016 but our flights got cancelled due to the hurricane, we got the flights changed (thankfully!) which was not an issue for the owners they were extremely helpful. "From start to finish the whole rental process was a dream. We were a big party of 27 and Marie was always on hand to help going above and beyond to make sure our stay was unforgettable. The villa's were perfectly located to all attractions and we had the pleasure of staying in the lake view, which was beautiful with everything you would need and more. The peaceful surroundings chilling poolside on an evening after a long day around the parks made everyday a memory and our return cannot be booked soon enough. "'We had a fantastic time thank you. No complaints or negatives from us; the villa was exactly as expected and we had a really great time. If I were being really picky the games room equipment was not as good as it could have been – the pool table wasn’t level. . One of the ten pin bowling balls was broken in two (I think someone had done this and left it balanced together in one piece!). But no complaints, we had a fantastic time and loved every minute.'"

Windward Cay, US192 / Lake Buena Vista

Windward Cay is an established development of 3 and 4-bedroom villas with private pools set within conversation woodland and located just off highway US192 near to Medieval Times.

The nearby highway US192 and adjoining SR535 both have Walmart supercenters, as well as a Publix, Super Target and Aldi supermarket. The Lake Buena Vista factory outlets are located on SR535, which is next to the Sunrise Plaza shopping complex. In addition to an abundance of smaller local shops in this area, there is a great selection of restaurants and eateries which include Longhorn Steakhouse, Olive Garden, Chilis, Perkins, Cracker Barrel, IHOP, Miller's Ale House, Five Guys, Smokey Bones, TGI Fridays, Applebees, Ichiban Buffet and El Tenampa Mexican. Travel towards Walt Disney World resort on SR535 for more restaurants and the Orlando Premium Outlets on Vineland.
